Downtown Sugar Hill, GA

Gateway Signage Branding

The area of downtown Sugar Hill has grown exponentially in recent years, drawing in new residents and visitors alike to enjoy unique experiences in the walkable city center. Recent additions like the art deco inspired Eagle Theatre, a community gym called The E Center, and shops and restaurants within walking distance to an award winning outdoor amphitheater ”The Bowl” highlighted the necessity of a welcome sign for the growing downtown.
To create the right feel, I developed a fresh logo to mirror the “brand newness” of the recently established downtown. The imagery balances the necessity of a visual identity that is eye catching as well as inviting. Utilizing a thick, white text across a navy backdrop with a pop of bright green color, the downtown branding provides easily identifiable elements that confirm for visitors that they’ve arrived.

Soofa signs (digital installations with interactive information) throughout downtown received the full branding treatment, connecting signage at entryways with the center of downtown activity and creating a cohesive feel for the brand.

The versatile downtown branding is applied to banners at each entryway to downtown, serving as both signage and sentinel for the downtown whether you’re a first-time visitor, in town for a concert or performance, or if downtown Sugar Hill feels like your second backyard.
